What is shot blast process?
The shot blasting process utilizes a centrifugal blast wheel that shoots media, like steel shot, onto a surface at high velocity. This knocks the surface free of debris and other material. The shot media, which varies from steel shot to cut wire to nut shells, loads into a hopper that feeds the blast wheel.

The Chinese shot blasting machine is a processing technology that throws the steel grit and steel shot at a high speed on the surface of the material object through a shot blasting machine. It is faster and more efficient than other surface treatment techniques, and can be used for casting processes after part retention or stamping.

High-quality shot blasting machines are divided into roller type, rotary type, mesh belt type, hook type and mobile type shot blasting machine according to the structure of the cleaning casting carrier.

Common Shot Blasting Machine Types and Applicable Scenarios

Through-Type Shot Blasting Machine (including roller conveyor and wire mesh belt)

Roller conveyor type is suitable for continuous cleaning of long plates, profiles, and welded structural parts; mesh belt type is suitable for smooth conveying of thin-walled parts, flat parts, or easily deformable workpieces. Both can be integrated into automated production lines and are suitable for large-volume continuous operations.

Hook-Type Shot Blasting Machine

Workpieces are suspended on hooks and rotated in the cleaning chamber, receiving multi-angle shot blasting. Suitable for workpieces with complex shapes, internal cavities, or deep holes, such as engine blocks, gearbox housings, pump bodies, and valve bodies. Single or double hook configurations can be selected according to production rhythm.

Crawler-Type Shot Blasting Machine

Workpieces are placed inside crawler-type drums and continuously tumble during shot blasting. Suitable for batch processing of small and medium-sized castings, forgings, and stampings. Suitable for small workpieces with relatively simple shapes that are not afraid of minor impacts, such as standard parts, hardware tools, and small gears.

Rotary Table Shot Blasting Machine

The workpiece is fixed on a rotating worktable, and the shot blaster propels the shot from top to bottom or from the side. Suitable for disc-shaped, ring-shaped, or single-sided intensive treatment workpieces, such as brake discs, flywheels, and flanges. The workpiece remains in a fixed position during the cleaning process, reducing the risk of surface impact.

Mobile Shot Blasting Machine

This equipment can be moved between different work surfaces, suitable for on-site repairs, partial cleaning, or situations with limited space. Commonly used for shot blasting large surfaces such as roads, decks, and bridges.
